April is here and I have good news!

I love the month of April. I don't know if it can top March but I'm totally willing to cross my fingers and think happy thoughts. LOL. Six years ago Mr. Laurann and I had a dream of ours come true. We managed to save enough money to buy a tiny little place that we call home. It's the first home we ever bought. It's really small but it's paid for and all ours. So... we had to do a lot of work to it. The dining room... oh man. Someone painted it red splatters. Really. I called it the Texas Chainsaw room. LOL. With my imagination and my love of horror novels... yeah. So I painted that baby pretty quickly so I wasn't imagining the worst. The kitchen cabinets had big daisies painted on them. NOT a big fan... so I borrowed a sander... and went to work. I put in new floors in the kitchen and the bathroom. We've painted nearly every room. We've done a lot of work and while it still has a 'to do' list... we're getting there! So... happy 6 years to us on having a home we own. LOL. We are really blessed and we'll do something special together to celebrate.
.
If you've been to my website... and seen my WIP page... I'm happy to announce that pretty darn soon one of those titles is going to be moving right over to COMING SOON!!! I was offered a contract!!! Very exciting!!! We had to change the name but it was accepted so YIPPEE!!! Or should I say.... Y'all will be seeing it soon. LOL! I lived in Texas for just over a year so I set it there. I live in Southern California so yeah... kind of hard to set it here. I had a blast writing it, it's a little different from my Zorns and Cyborgs... but I'm hoping that you'll like it. So yeah... happy news!!! Are those big enough hints on which one it is??? LOL!
.
This month Kissing Steel is going to come out on the 16th. Again, a little different from what I usually do. I like to write aggressive males going after a female. This time it's the woman going after the big guy. LOL. There's just something about the idea of a sexy guy chained down to a bed... and yeah. So... that was just a blast to write!!! I get my story ideas in the weirdest ways. Truly. As an example... my cyborgs were dreamed up when I saw a fantasy art picture of this warrior guy. BOOM! Cyborgs on the brain! LOL. I wrote the western thinking about a friend of mine who lost her husband and needed to start her life over. So that story was born. Kissing Steel... a hot picture on a blog I was visiting. You know that saying a picture is worth a thousand words? Well, to me, some pictures are worth about 55,000-65,000 words. LOL!!! You know if you read my blog that I do my own book trailers and website/banners. The WIP's I'm working on... I came across a few pictures while hunting stock photos for those... bought them... and they motivated me to write! LOL.
.
So... happy April. Beware of April Fool's jokes... people get me EVERY year. I could chalk it up to being a blonde... but no. LOL. I'm just that gullible sometimes.

  3. I mostly remember all of the hard work you put in while saving up for our home. Knowing how much you did makes my hardest day at work seem easy.

    Love you,
    Mr. Laurann

  7. Cari - thank you!

Kaye - I'm still in shock over how terrific the past year is. A few years ago I had to beg my friends... please read this and tell me what you think. They aren't readers! LOL. It figures that 90 percent of my friends would rather get dental surgery than sit down with a book! LOL.
Happy Easter to you and yours!
